Meet Shyama, Miss Maryland Candidate 2022| Q&A
Hi everyone!
Recently we decided to sponsor Shyama Bhatt for Miss Maryland Competition when she reached out to us via Instagram. She is a current resident of Bethesda and a fellow brown girl. What drew me to Shyama was that she was a go-getter and a multi-talented individual juggling many things at a time. In the spirit of getting to know more about her, Oyeshi, our social media coordinator, decided to do a little Q & A session with her. Here's how it went:
O: How would you describe your style?
S: My everyday fashion style is very chic, and I believe it slightly differs from my desi style as I love a vibrant color palette for my desi clothes.
O: I love it! Are you inspired by anyone's style in particular?
S: Coco Chanel is my style inspiration. I love her timeless design and clothing, such as suits and "little black dress"
O: So, let's get down to the nitty-gritty; what made you apply for the pageant?
S: I was inspired to apply to the Miss America competition, as it empowers women and their endeavors!
O: So why did you choose Nirozi to sponsor your pageant?
S: Nirozi is an entirely female-owned and operated business, which is truly what drew me into the brand. It is so crucial for desi women to empower and encourage each other! After meeting with Nizum, I truly felt supported as she was willing to invest her time to help find perfect pieces for Miss Maryland's week and appearances.
O: Aww, we love that! So give me all the tea; what are your favorite pieces from our brand?
S: It is so hard to choose. I am in LOVE with every piece; however, if I had to choose one, it would be the Chandbali earring as they are perfect for a traditional desi look and Indo-Western looks.
O: Okay, so the last question, what's a good tip about the style you think everyone should know?
S: It is essential to fuse your cultural identity as a form of self-expression in your style.
Okay, dear reader, now that you know about Shyama Bhatt, let us know in the comments what your favorite Nirozi pieces are and how you love to style them.
